Over the last two years, Facebook and Partnership to End Addiction have teamed up to raise awareness about the growing opioid epidemic and break down the stigma and shame associated with addiction. The first phase of our campaign, Stop Opioid Silence, reached 70M+ Americans, told the stories of 12 Americans impacted by addiction, connected people to treatment and recovery resources in their community (including via the SAMHSA treatment locator) via Facebook Messenger, and over 140 Members of Congress filmed PSAs to help break the silence on the epidemic in their communities.
Designed to empower people to break the stigma and shame associated with seeking treatment, this national public awareness campaign inspired individuals and families to send an SOS and share their stories.
